What this task is
Conversations plays a short two-speaker exchange — a campus or workplace situation lasting 20–30 seconds — then asks two multiple-choice questions about what was said, why, or what happens next. It tests following a dialogue and tracking who said what.
Instant, deterministic grading
Both questions are graded deterministically against the stored answer key for an instant score and explanations. Audio plays once by default; practice mode unlocks replays and the transcript after you answer.
Strategy tips
- Track each speaker's goal — who wants what, and whether they agree.
- Listen for the turning point: a "but", "actually", or change of plan is often the question's focus.
- Note tone — agreement, hesitation, surprise — since questions can ask how a speaker feels.
- Don't try to write everything; hold the gist and the one or two key details.
